Bio (Long)
Chris Mayers' journey began in the heart of Caribbean rhythms in Trinidad, where soca, parang, and reggae were the soundtrack to everyday life. That foundation evolved into a lifelong passion for production, songwriting, sound design, and live performance.
After relocating to Toronto, Chris pursued a Professional Sound & Business (Studio) program, earning an Advanced Diploma and building a network of live engineers, studio professionals, lighting designers, and performing artists. It was during this program that he recognized a gap: talented emerging artists with no professional platform to showcase their work.
In October 2025, Chris launched The Debut — a curated live showcase series designed to bridge genres and give emerging artists the professional treatment they deserve: engineered sound, a real audience, and a full photo/video content package. The first edition sold 120 tickets, exceeding its target by 20%. The Debut is now a monthly series growing across Toronto and Scarborough.
Chris is also a vocalist and performer in his own right, blending soca, reggae, and modern soul into a sound that reflects his Caribbean roots and his Toronto present. Whether he's curating a stage, commanding one as an MC, or taking it as a performer, his mission is the same: to get people involved in each other's cultures through the universal language of music.
